Can't open recent recordings

Not sure what is going on but when I attemot to open a recent file I get an error message: "Can initialize for decoding." Never ran into that before. Have no idea how to fix it. Thanks!

Can't tell you anything about this because we have no information about your file. What format is it? Can you show us a screen-grab of the message?

It's an mp3 file. Here's a screen shot of the message in Adobe:

I think you've got a faulty MP3 file - probably in the header. In order to open MP3 files at all in Audition, they have to be decoded back to wav, because that's Audition's working format. If the parameters presented to the decoder aren't recognised, then you'll get that error. Do any other apps open the file successfully?
