Changing a voice without stretching and pitching

Hi Adobe folks!

If I use the stretching and pitching effect to change a voice it is way to obvious, because of the chipmunk style or the deep voice style thats occuring with its change. I still don't how everyone sells this effect on youtube as a voice changer. It sounds horrible!

Maybe somone else does how an idea to make a voice higher and reducing the chipmunk effect. Or are there other tools I can use to adjust a voices?
