Copy Paste taking forever is this normal?

2020 MacBook Pro macOS Big Sur 11.0Adobe Audition 2021 14.0.0.364.29 GB .wav files Just wondering if this is normal or there is something wrong with my operating system or install of Audition. I've tried restarting but copy and pasting is taking a very long time. They are large files but I can duplicate the files elsewhere in seconds but when I copy them it takes 5-10 min and paste them another 10 min. They are saved on my main ssd drive of a decent 2020 macbook pro so I don't know why this would take so long. I'm trying to copy a 4 gb .wav file to paste it into one of the blank channels on a new audio file. Also when I pasted the single file that is supposed to be one of the three blank channels I created, the same file pasted as all three of the channels.  Am I doing something wrong here?

I FIGURED IT OUT OMG! this is a wild bug but im going to suggest something, and if it doesnt work im sorry. it was taking me over 30 minutes to paste a 1 second clip and i just figured it out. there is a window called markers. right click on one in the history and delete all cue markers. it will run at the speed of light i had over like 1000 by accident i wasnt paying attention. runs like silk now, keep mind of your que markers and delete them when your done with that section, or else.

im having the same problem in audition, at this rate i will fail. it is not your system. ive been through 3 and it started out fine until january 24' they need to fix this immediatly.
