I recently used Adobe Audtion to create a short audio track for a film I'm working on, it was supposed to be handed in tomorrow so I wanted to do some last check ups, but now I get a message saying 'Could not find the specified plug in to open this file'. Can anyone help me out, this is mistakenly my only copy of the audio!

I'm afraid that we'd need a lot more information than that to work out what's going on here. Mac or PC? What plugins did you use? And is that an Audition message? I would have expected it to be rather more than a non-specific 'can't find a plugin' message.

I use a Macbook Pro (macOS Monterey). Unfortunately I'm not very tech savvy so I'm not sure what plugins I use and that's all there is to the message, I can't find out any further information

I'm sorry, but you really haven't given us anything to go on at all. But surely you must be aware of any plugins you used? You have quite specifically got to add them to a track - it's not something subconscious!
Can you provide a screen grab of your multitrack session?

Hi I'm having the same issue in Adobe Audition. Audition is fully updated and I've restarted the computer. When I open a session that was created less than a week ago the same error message as the original poster appears and I cannot access the session. I use Izotope and Waves 3rd party audio plugins.

I have heard at least one report of trouble with iZotope plugins refusing to open - for reasons that are less than obvious...

I suspect that the audio file itself may be damaged or corrupt
Can you locate the media file and see if it plays in your PC's inbuilt audio player?
