Hello! I've been using audition for about 4 years, absolutely scoured the web and this forum before asking for help. I found similar issues but no real solutions.
Effectively, we are trying to make mp3 exports, but can't, we found out the reason why is because our tracks are not being sent to the master track, except, there is no master track, instead there is just a mix track. Granted, I can use a random template like "full rock band" and create a new project with a master track in it by default, but this doesn't help me with my 70+ projects created with the 'default' session settings.
This was all done a brand new 2022 computer with Audition 2022, perhaps audition 2022 defaults to a 'mix' track instead of a 'master' one.
I've clicked just about everywhere inside of preferences, inserting options, etc. Is there anyway to either - insert a master track, turn the mix track into a master track, force the session to change template types into a template that has a master track?
Really appreciate any advice here. I realize many will think I'm crazy and say "you must have changed the master track name to mix! or you deleted the master track!" I assure you I've done my due diligance and I'd love to skip right to any knowledge folks have of adding or creating a master track inside of a session from nothing - that would be incredible.
Thank you!

I'm pretty certain that the developers have simply changed the name! i.e., what used to be called Master is now called Mix. AFAIAA nothing has actually changed in practice, i.e., how the program actually works!
Have you tried exporting a project with these "new" track names? What happens if you do?

The default name was changed simply to make things clearer - calling it a 'master' track has certainly confused a number of people in the past. The moment you call it 'mix', its purpose becomes much clearer.
Now, if you open an old session, the chances are that you will have to do nothing. The session file contains whatever that channel was called at the time - so opening it, you'll still have a 'Master' track. It's only new sessions where the name will be changed - and if you really want, you can change the name in any session to anything you want...
