delay switching from waveform to multitrack

any idea why i would be experiencing a slight delay when switching from multitrack view to waveform view and vice versce? i feel like this has just started happening out of nowhere. is there any kind of way to make audition pretty much have priorities over the cpu on the computer?..

Try turning on or off the 'Use hardware acceleration for drawing' in Preferences/General.
