Effects are not affective at session export to wav

Hello!

While using CableGuys Halftime and Atares autotune pro in Graph mode I noticed that thoses efects are not rendered or render incorrectly in the final mixdown.

They do work while playing back the audio in the mixer but when rendered they do not work.

Both are licensed and are working in any other DAW i use.

I use a MacBook Pro (16", 2019) with Adobe audition 14.4.

I already tried to replace them with the VST version instead of AU.

If anyone already had this problem or have any idea of how i could fix it!

Thanks in advance.

Have a nice day 🙂

I am experiencing the same issue with latest version of Adobe Audition (Windows) with CableGuys ShaperBox VST2 (64bit) plugin.   The effect preview works fine, but when applying, the effect is either not applied or is garbled / distorting the audio.

I spoke with customer support for CableGuys/Shaperbox 2, and they stated that Audition does not working properly because "it does not properly support position-synced plugins, such as ShaperBox".

I have also submitted a feature request to Adobe asking for Audition to hopefully get support added for this in the near future, but who knows if/when that will happen.

Well they are demonstrably wrong, aren't they? If they were correct, the real-time playback wouldn't work correctly, would it? But hey, it got you off their phone line...

So having got that out of the way, let's look at what's likely to be the real reason, and almost certainly the way to prevent this happening. When you do a mixdown, a heck of a lot has to happen at once, and it's not that rare for the system to run out of steam - it's trying to process your mix at rather greater than normal playback speed, after all. Intensive processor effects, especially when they are being manipulated by the automation system, are known to take a bit of a hit when this happens. And that's why there is an option to pre-render tracks. By doing this, all of the intensive processing for a track is done in advance of the final mixdown, and it's what that little lightning bolt in the corner of the track/clip effects box, or on the track itself, is for.

If you change your mind, it's undo-able on a per track basis. Change what you want, and then re-render. Using this solves most mixdown problems and is definitely what you should try first.
