Hi! New here -- just starting to learn how to use Audition properly. Is it possible to view the yellow envelope line in the Waveform Editor? I'd like to adjust it based on things that I'm seeing in the Spectral Frequency Display, which you can't look at in the Multitrack Editor. Thanks!

Er, no. The spectral display only operates in Waveform view, as it can only operate on a single waveform at a time. Everything to do with envelope control is inherently restricted to Multitrack view because it doesn't operate on the files themselves, but the way they're played back.

I think that it would probably help if you looked carefully at the basic differences between Multitrack (non-destructive) and waveform (destructive) views, and how they operate. Once you've understood this, many things  should become a little clearer. For some reason, there doesn't seem to be a tutorial video in the Adobe training section that makes this clear, despite what the one that should actually says on the introduction - it doesn't go all the way. There is one on YouTube that does, I believe: Audition Waveform vs. Multitrack Editing – What’s the Difference? | Using Adobe Audition Tutorial - YouTube
