Essential video mixing not working - HELP wanted

I am trying to load a .mp4 video into Adobe Audition CC and it won't preview. All I am getting is a green screen. I tried using a .mov file as well, and then it turned white. Audio plays fine, but the video won't show. Both files were not corrupted and imported without any problems into Premiere. I updated audition and then it worked. I started working on the project, saved and exited. When I open the project again the problem is back. And yes, I tried restarting my computer, and I tried googling the problem. No one seems to have the same issue...

.mp4 and .mov are only media containers and don't define what the actual video format that they contain is. Can you use MediaInfo to analyze the videos and post the format information (use the Text view option) here to help us see what the playback problem might be.

If it turns out to be a format that Audition has problems with you may have to use a work around by opening the video in Premiere and saving out as a more friendly format like .avi. Alternatively open it in Premiere and do an Edit in Audition from Premiere to send the files to Audition. Also the latest version of Audition should be able to open a Premiere .proj file directly.
