External, multichannel USB-ASIO-soundcards for Win10?

Community Beginner ,

Hi!

Are there external USB-soundcards with at least three different channels

  • that work under Win10
  • that come with ASIO-drivers (no "ASIO4ALL")
  • and that work with Audition 3.0 under Win10 in multi-channel-mode?

Please also list soundcards that work with later versions of Audition under Win10 in multi-channel-mode.

I already tried various soundcards, but e.g. the "CSL USB 7.1" only works in stereo-mode, ... . 😞

Thanks and regards,

Jörg

That's the VERY budget end of the market. At that point the only contending manufacturer is Behringer. The models to look at are the U-Phoria UMC204HD and slightly more expensively, the UMC404HD. There are ASIO drivers available and the reviews claim that they are wonderful. My experience of Behringer is that their products are fine as long as you don't keep plugging and unpluging inputs and outputs, and go very gently with the controls. The electronics are generally okay, though.

There are loads of them. But since you haven't given any indication of your budget, it's difficult to know where to start...

Hi! It would be great if I could stay below 50€. But I would even spend up to 200€ when needed...

BTW: The three (or more channels) have to be available as analog outputs. Cards that only support multi-channel via S/PDIF or similar wouldn't work for my use case.

Thanks a lot! That's what I was looking for! 🙂

(When you have bought two Emagic soundcards right before Apple swollowed that company and hence axed all Windows-drivers, when you have bought a Lenovo laptop and Nvidia stopped updating the Windows-drivers only 19 months later, then you will stop buying expensive hardware.)

Btw: thanks for the hint! The U-Phoria UMC204HD finally arrived and works great in combination with audition! Thanks a lot again and again!

Happy Easter!
