Question

FCPX to Audition

Hi,

I have multitrack audio in FCPX which I have exported as an XML file.  I open Adobe Audition and try to import the XML file into Audition using XtoCC for mixing.

I keep getting the following message:  Error:  This file is not supported by libsndfile. Code: 21.  File contains data in an unknown format.

Can anyone help me  solve this problem?

Hopefully,

Martin Howells

XML is a bit like a style of writing but that writing could be writing in english or a different language so just because it is "xml" doesn't mean it is a variant of XML that Audition will open. The particular xml flavour that Audition opens (apart from its own native xml) is FCP XML (ie Final Cut Pro 7) and NOT .fcpxml (Final Cut Pro X).

They are chalk and cheese

Feel free to email me the xml to check it out and to confirm the XML format - info@aatranslator.com.au

Hi,

Thanks for your help.

The only option in FCPX is to export XML.  It doesn't have any choices as to which version HML

The Xto7 software file on my desktop says fcpxml.

The error message I get in Audition is:  This file is not supported by libsndfile. Code 21.  File contains data in an unknown format.

Does any of tht make sense?

Cheerrs,

Martin

An XML from FCP X is not compatible with any flavour of XML that Audition can open.

I believe Xto7 SHOULD be able to convert an .fcpxml to an FCP XML

I would need to see the XML to advise further
