A proud Adobe Audition user by the name of _lauri_ asked a simple question.
"Is there a way to adjust horizontal scrolling speed (shift+scrollwheel)? In default settings I find it unusable slow."
- 6th June 2011
To celebrate this milestone of insufficient customer support/user experience, I thought I'd go ahead and make this post. As it stands today on the 1st of July 2021, there have been almost thirty thousand(!) paying customers of the Adobe Suite that have not had their need met.
As a podcast editor by trade, it is obnoxiously inefficient to have a horizontal scrolling feature as slow as it is currently. Trying to edit sometimes 2 hour long podcast without an easy way to scrub through the timeline (or source file) is infuriating.
Scrolling through the 10 year old thread with only 1 comment from an employee in that time was quite disheartening and highlights the lack of awareness Adobe has towards it's customers that use this software.
So please Adobe... Celebrate this 10 year anniversary well. By satisfying the needs of nearly 30,000 people.

Actually there were two comments from two employees. It's fine to celebrate the anniversary of Adobe only reacting to the requests of big ticket users (30,000 is nowhere in it - you need another 0 on the end, and then some) but at least try to get the facts right, please.

so very helpful. Thanks for your gracious response in actually not answering my question at all

Hi Glen,
No Adobe fix, but please see this post I have just made:

It's outrageous! Whether one or even a shocking increase of two Adobe staff responded to it.
But I'll say that the Script written in this thread changed my life and nearly tripled my work speed as a podcast editor:

I know next to nothing about coding but this was easy to execute. Did this with a Kensington trackball and I'm faster than ever! Highly recommend to anyone out there on PC who's dealing with horizontal scroll speed slowing them down.

Thanks for this! I haven't used any sort of script before, so it's nice to know it's not just me. Will check it out

I'm trying to run this but not sure how. How did you get this to work?
