I use adobe suites at my home setup but for with university i've been using a sound studio with protools and a full mixing board. I was wondering what boards i could use with adobe audition. I've heard I want midi control? not sure. Looking for something like this Mackie ProFX12v2 12-Channel Professional FX Mixer with USB: Amazon.ca: Musical Instruments, Stage & Studio

Any help guys?

That mixer, like a lot of others in that price range, only has a basic stereo in/out USB interface. So you can only record a couple of separate tracks at a time or a stereo premix. If you want to do real Multitrack recording you will need to spend a bit more to find a mixer with multichannel in/outs over USB.

You won't find MIDI control either on a mixer in this price range. You don't necessarily need it, but if you get into mixing down large Multitrack sessions then being able to use the mixer faders to control track levels in Audition and to automate level changes a MIDI controlled mixer may be required. These days most MIDI controlled mixers tend to be digital ones which are easier to control via MIDI.
