How is Overall Frequency calculated?

I am trying to see if there is a difference between the ranges of songs. I want to see what the overall frequency is defining. Any help is appreciated.

I'm assuming (since the concept of  'overall frequency' doesn't really mean anything) that you are referring to what happens in the Frequency Analysis window when you scan an entire file. The answer to this is that for any given frequency, the highest peak level is displayed. Which of course tells you nothing about anything much, as the frequency content of different parts of songs will vary - some will have louder, brighter choruses and those are what is going to cause the peaks. Consequently that display tells you nothing at all about the quieter bits...

Is there any app you would reccomend for me to be able to get a value of frequencies used in the songs? Just to doubl check, what does it show in overall frequency or average frequency? I just need to ask if any of the numbers listed could help me.

There are no apps that will give you this information about a song, because any information you got this way would be meaningless. There are absolutely no numbers you could glean from anything like this that would mean anything at all. This is what your ears are for!

I should be able to look at the graph though, and be able to tell which frequencies are most 'audiable', at least right?
