How to Create a Video Podcast

Aug 07, 2023 Aug 07, 2023

Hi everyone! I have a regular podcast on rss.com. Now, I would like to create a video podcast [using podcast episodes and videos I already have] for my YouTube channel. But I am not sure to incorporate or import a video to a podcast episode. Can someone guide me? Thanks! Michelle

Hi there! In the past I have used online audio converter to strip the audio from videos and then just loaded the video as my podcast episodes. I sometimes would pop the audio into Audacity and add an intro or some additional explanations if needed, but online audio converter has been awesome for taking videos and turning them into podcast audio. Hope this helps @Global Creators 🙂

Since this is an Adobe forum, I thought that the least we could do was point you in the direction of some Adobe software that might potentially help you...

Have a look at Adobe Express - there's a page here: https://www.adobe.com/express/

Thanks, SteveG! Yes, I use Express, as well but for other things. Seems there any many options, now that I've put my mind on it and gotten such nice feedback from the folks here in this forum. I was hoping for an all-in-one solution [using just one platform] to conserve time and efficiency as the creative process from start to finish is quite time consuming. So far, this is my process:

1. Speak the story using a dictaphone [I find this process to be much faster than writing since when speaking, there is no 'inner editor' telling me to write it a 'better' way!]

2. Transcribe and clean it up

3. Record in Audition and publish to rss.com as a podcast

4. Video podcast - Identify animated design assets using a non Adobe platform

5. Upload design assets and audio recording to Premier Rush

6. Publish video podcast to YouTube

Voila!

Still a long process so now I'm looking for efficiency!

Thanks again!

Michelle

Hey @Global Creators! I'm not too familiar with Adobe's offerings in this area, but generally what I'll do is create and edit the video podcast using Descript. This allows you to export the same file as audio and video (and even upload directly to YouTube).

If you're going the other way -- converting audio-only episodes to video, RSS.com actually has a fantastic, free tool that lets you do that called PodViz: https://rss.com/podviz/

I actually use Descript as I record my initial stories using a dictaphone.
Once that story is edited, I make the final podcast recording in Audition.
No need for tss u til the final publication. Thanks!
