Hi everyone !

I have a short 5 second segment of audio on my timeline, I do not want to use remix. I want to just copy and paste this 5 seconds of audio over and over again until I have about 5 minutes total.  I have tried to copy and paste, - this works great, but it only works a single time. Doing it again doesn't do anything.

Thanks for any help !

Assuming that this is in Audition... the way to do this is to convert your file to a loop file in Properties>Basic Settings and put a check in the Loop box. Your file will now have a little loop icon on the left of it, and if you drag out the far end, you'll find that it will repeat - as many times as you want. (Alt+Drag won't work)

You have to bear in mind that this is fundamentally a looped file, not a looped clip. Usually the way to deal with the anomalies of this is to take your looped section that's the length you want and convert it to a unique copy. You can move this around without issue - and of course loop the unique copy separately, which will of course be a rather longer loop.

Did you try ALT+Drag for copying?

Hi Steve !

Here's a strange one........ so I have my audio on the timeline ( multritrack mode )

I trim the audio using the rasor tool, and then use that "loop" you told me to use.... so I go to end of that trimmed

audio, but as I start pulling it to the right, the part I had deleted with the rasor tool come back  as I pull to the left.... and only when all that audio is restored ( brought back although I trimmed it off ) only then will it start adding on that looped part ( where it starts to duplicate it again ( loop it )  I wonder what I'm doing wrong Steve.  Thanks for any help !

Hello Steve !

ah !! OK, now I understand.  OK, I'll do just that, - I'll snip the clip to the length I want it, and then loop it like that. OK sounds good. Thanks so much for your time ! I DO appreciate it !  I'm so glad our community has people like you who have great knowledge of the program and are willing to help others !  Thank you !
