How to mute one input from a stereo recording?

Hi everyone!

Im doing a podcast from a stereo recording. During a few minutes, there's all this noise that I notice is coming in mostly from one of the channels. Is there a way to lower the volume on just one channel for a short duration?

Thanks for any help as I learn!

If you are in Waveform view, then use the mute button at the RH end of each channel - they are marked L and R, and clicking on one will mute that channel. It also means that any edits you do to your stereo file with that channel muted will only apply to the other (active) one - so if you want to make a selection of just one part and reduce the level in just that, you can. When you unmute the first channel, it will behave as you want.
