It depends... on a lot of things. Firstly whether this is a Mac or a PC. If it's a PC and you have a 'what you hear' selection available as a recording source, then use that. That doesn't always work though because some manufacturers deliberately remove this option, citing the RIAA and copyright law. Others leave it available, so it's a bit of a lottery. If you can't find that, there's something called Virtual Audio Cable that you can set up to provide a direct link between your browser output and a recordable input - but it's an almighty pain to set up, and a lot of people simply give up trying.
The option I use is a separate app that effectively does what Virtual Audio Cable does, without you having to go through the whole rigmarole of setting it up, and that's NCH's SoundTap. It just works (it tells you exactly what it's up to all the time), and does all the recording too. I have no affiliation with NCH Software at all, incidentally, other than as a satisfied customer.

My response to this is DO NOT use this program for Windows. It does not record streaming, and the tech support for this company is the pits. Glad this guy had a great experience, but the community chat is full of hundreds and hundreds of people who couldn't get it to work.
Thanks dude-- your recommendation cost me $30 for something that DOES NOT work. It does NOT record off youtube or anything else-- unless you want to put your microphone next to a computer your computer speaker.

So you didn't run the demo version first? The recommendation is made in good faith, but like all recommentations - caveat emptor. Also, you should note that Sound Tap won't record DRM-protected streams.
