Hi Again, Folks,
In my new version of Adobe Audition, when I mixdown to halftrack, and I increase the volume level there, it does not save. If I have the levels right up to optimum in multi track mode and then mixdown to half track, and the level is up where it needs to be, it will save, but again, if I increase it at the half track mode, when I do a Save As, it will save it at the level it was at in Multi Track mode. Is there a setting that needs to be changed so that when I increase the volume in Half Track mode, it will save. What I've had to do is, take the wav of the mixdown, import it into a new project, put it in a channel (1), increase the volume there, then do a Mixdown To New File, so that the level is already up where it needs to be, then it will save. In my old version, I didn't have this problem. When I do have to increase the volume level, it's only slight - 1 or 2 db.

How exactly are you 'increasing the volume level'?

Have you applied this directly, or via the effects rack? When you've applied this, is there an asterisk at the end of the file name? I have to say that it works fine here...

If there's no asterisk, then you didn't make any change. This could happen, for instance, if you put the effect in the effects rack. You'd see the effect when you played it, but unless you applied the rack to the track, the change wouldn't actually occur at all.

Ok, I'm at my computer. There is, after all, an asterisk after the mixdown file. To make this even more mind boggling, anything else I do (such as deleting the extra space at the beginning of the mixdown track, fadeouts, etc.) in the half track mode gets saved when I hit "Save As". The only thing that doesn't save is the volume setting if it is changed. So, again, what I have to do now, is save it, open a new project, import the file, put it in one of the tracks, up the volume there, do the Mixdown To New File (half track), then save as again.
The two photos, the first one (Multi track mixer screen), anything I do there gets saved, but the second one (the Files list), everything I do, EXCEPT the volume increase, gets saved. Very strange.
