large file in audition over 4GB

Hi there,

I am working on a sound track that will hopefully end up as being 8760hrs long. However, my track is currently at 1165hrs and is 3.9GB. The file is saved to my 5TB hard drive and I have set all of the media cache settings to use the drive as the defult working and storage space. The file is also saved in the lowest quality possible (as audibility does not matter), which is mp3. 8bit at 8000hz.

The problem I keep facing when trying to extend my my file to 8760hrs can be seen in the image attached. The error report contains code i cannot decipher. I appreciate this is a really large file but if anyone has any ideas to help they are greatly appreciated. The point of the track is that it is continuous so splitting it into a collection of smaller ones is not a option.

Would I be better off using a different program such as Reaper?

Huge thanks!Screenshot (7).png

So what does the report actually say? I suspect that this has everything to do with the addressing range of the format you are trying to save to - there are limits imposed by the format.
