Hi,
I am running the following setup and if/once I get the latency right then I get clipping issues. Any suggestions on getting the right balance? I've only just bought this laptop and this is the only purpose I'm using it for.
Laptop:
Asus TUF Gaming F15
Intel® Core™ i5-10300H processor (2.5 - 4.6GHz)
512GB SSD storage with 16GB RAM
NVIDIA® GeForce® GTX 1650 graphics
Windows 11
Interface:
Focusrite Scarlett 2i2 3rd Gen
Daw:
Latest version of Adobe Audition via the Creative Cloud Desktop App
Plugins:
ML Sound Lab Amped Roots
Purpose:
Recording Guitar
Importing drum loops
Thanks
Matt

When you say 'clipping' what do you mean? It has a specific meaning in digital audio, and that has absolutely nothing to do with latency...

Sorry Steve, clipping was the wrong word. In multitrack view during playback after recording a guitar track there isn't a smooth playback. The track cuts in & out in milliseconds and the drum loop thats been uploaded/inserted into another track is slightly distorted. The drums by themselves playsback fine in Audition. This all happens after i've got any latency issues sorted.

Sounds as though you still need to increase the latency setting - it's usually higher than you think it needs to be to get rid of all artifacts. The other thing is - which driver class are you using in Audition? You should be using the Scarlett driver, and ASIO for the best performance from a latency perspective.
