Markers and metadata: when should I not send them to a client (in a professional recording)?

Don't understand the question. Why would you not want to?

Hi SteveG,
Thank you for your attention to my question. Judging from your answer I assume it is common practice to include Markers and Metadata
when submitting a voice-over recording to a client. Am I right?
(Adobe Audition gives me the option to exclude Markers and Metadata when saving a file - that is why I asked - I am new to Adobe Audition)

Well at least we have a little more information now...
The chances are that whatever your client plays the recording on will completely ignore any markers. If you submit an MP3, marker data wouldn't be included anyway because the format doesn't support them, so it wouldn't be an issue. There is no reason to exclude any other metadata, although you might want to check exactly what's being saved.
