I purchased Audition 1.0 when it came out and upgraded to Version 3.0 some time later (i.e. I purchased an "upgrade offering"). I am now trying to re-install Version 3.0 (PC re-build). The Audition installer accepts my upgrade S/N, but is now prompting for my original Version 1.0 S/N. That V1 CD and S/N are long gone. What can I do to install Version 3.0?
Unfortunately even if you had your original AA1 serial number you wouldn't be able to activate AA3 to work any more since Adobe removed the activation server several years ago. However all is not lost since you can now download a non-activation requiring version of AA3 and use it's supplied serial number to get going again. See the FAQ Audition 3 and the activation service
