No Audio in to Audition

I'm stumped - I've tried multiple mic set-ups in... both inbuilt mic and external.

I've checked to see inbuilt mic is working and receiving audio with other programs.

I've tried verious settings - I've updated - un-installed - re-installed --- and still no bloddy audio recording abilty - Help - Thank you
