Noise Reduction in Audition

Hello there..  I am new to Audition. Just wondering if there is a simple one or two click approach to editing a file so as to reduce or eliminate the noise floor. 

 

I used to use Hindenburg and they have a pretty sophisticated noise reduction functionality that eliminated ambient noise from the entire file in 2 clicks.  So my approach had always been to do this as a first pass and then to go back in and clean up any additional mouth clicks or other unwanted sounds.

 

I'm sure Audition has something similar for a first pass, I'm just not familiar with it..  I'd appreciate any input on a similar approach for Audition and/or any video links that may be helpful.

    Hindenburg uses a very basic adaptive noise reduction system - you can tell it's adaptive because gets 'better' the more material you give it. Now, Audition has one of those, and a few more as well. Adaptive noise reduction is okay when the background noise varies, but it's by no means the best way of removing constant noise. It is simple to apply though, unlike the process method - just look for Adaptive Noise Reduction in the effects list under Noise Reduction/Restoration.

    Thanks Steve!  Here's the combination that I found to be very helpful for editing:

     

    Step 1: FFT / Kill Mic Rumble.  This was super effective and literally flatlined the noise floor.

     

    Step 2: Many Options....  Either the noise reduction process or Denoise or adaptive noise reduction.  I'm blown away at how many options Adobe provides to reduce noise reduction.

     

    Step 3: For one-off glitches... Highlight the bad section, then right click and select "auto heal selection". I absolutely love this feature because it blends the bad audio section with what's before and after it.  I wish there was a way to have this work similar to the noise reduction process so it would apply to the entire file.

     

    Step 4: EQ

     

    What I need help with now is to figure out how to remove "deep breaths" from the entire file. If someone could help with that I'd really appreciate it.
