Noise when arm for record

Community Beginner ,

When i hit 'arm for record' I get a reverb-ish effect. Whenever I say something or the mic picks up noise, it will continue to repeat and get louder. What do I do?

Hi christhomasr82455909-

You need to disable the "enable smart monitoring" preference located in Preferences>Multitrack>When arming tracks for record.

It seems like the Monitor function is stuck on. When I enable Monitor on the track it does nothing more, and when it's not enabled it still functions. Just my observation. I'm guessing a new bug.

Did I say "bug"? I meant "feature". Thanks.

Yes. This is catching a few people out. I think that it should have been off by default as it was only introduced as a new feature in CC2018.
