ogg files always saving as 32 bit

I'm trying to make ogg file lighter by reducing the bit depth, but it seems that every time I re-open a file I've saved with the format settings specifically set to 16 bit, it says the bit depth is 32.
Is this something related to .ogg itself, or is Audition unable to export it properly?

Neither - it's exported correctly (as a look at the file properties would probably reveal), but when Audition re-opens it, it will be decoded to a 32-bit file to preserve the quality in any subsequent edit. Audition does this with MP3 files as well. Yes it's perhaps confusing, but it's for a good reason. But the export will be as you set it.

    I imagined it must have been something like that. In older versions of Audition it did show the bit depth I exported it with, so I was confused about it.
