I wanted to try surround mixing using the Creative Sound Blaster Omani 5.1 external sound card but I’m having playback issues. After configuring the device, I import an audio file and then use the surround panner to pan the audio, as you do, but whenever I do that, I can’t hear any audio playback. In fact, in general I hear nothing. I noticed that when I export the processed file to a WAV or MP3, I can hear the surround sound as it pans around all 5 speakers. So now I’m sure that the is with Audition. For configuration for the 5.1 external sound card, I use ASIO4All. Please if you could help me get this sorted out, it would be much appreciated. I’ve been using Audition for years now and can’t get this figured out. Thanks in advance.
Unfortunately Creative soundcards are only meant for gaming or communication purposes, not professional audio playback. So this is certainly not a problem with Audition. Audition needs an audio interface with at least six discrete audio output channels to be able to play 5.1 surround audio and the correct manufacturer's supplied ASIO drivers. Sound Blaster cards provide neither of these. They are designed only to provide 5.1 channel output by decoding already encoded multitrack audio files, such

They are designed only to provide 5.1 channel output by decoding already encoded multitrack audio files, such as .mp3, not from separate channels of audio as delivered by Audition. ASIO4All won't help here as it isn't a real ASIO audio driver.
So in order to monitor multichannel audio out of Audition you need to be able to set up Audition's audio hardware page to send the correct channels to the correct outputs. If the Sound Blaster doesn't show you all six outputs there then you need to buy yourself a true discrete multichannel USB audio interface.

Thanks for the detailed response. Could you recommend me some ASIO interfaces? I’m not even sure what to type in the search bar to get what I want.
