I have the latest updated audition and am using a focus right usb audio interface. The play back will just stop out of nowhere while the tracks seems to still be "playing" but i cannot hear anyuthing? I have been dealing with this for so long and at this point am ready to just ditch this program and switch to cubase. Its infuriating. I coinstantly have to prerender tracks even though im working off a 3000 dollar pc. then if not all the tracks are prerendered it will play for a second then sound will cut in playback, forcing me to prerender every file seems to work. but now every file is prerendered and its still acting up. So tired of this garbage. does anyuone have a solution? I cant even work on this thing... no wonder its not industry standard.

But industry standard is exactly what it is, effectively, certainly in the broadcast world!
However, you are not the first person to report that they are using a Focusrite interface and experiencing problems! If you do a search in the forum for posts mentioning Focusrite interfaces you will find quite a few, along with suggestions as to how to try to remedy the problem.

I looked and though there are similar posts no one has addressed the issue????

Have you checked that you are running the latest version of the Focusrite driver for your interface?

If the cursor (aka transport) continues to move, then Audition is sending signals to your sound device. If it doesn't, then it isn't - it's as simple as that. If Audition is sending signals to your sound device, but they aren't getting any further than that, then you have an external problem with it. Most importantly at this stage though is to ask - which device class are you using? MME or ASIO?

Just as an experiment, if you try it with MME does the same thing happen? The thing about ASIO is that it punches a hole clean through most of the operating system, so it's talking rather directly to the hardware - which is how it reduces latency. One thing that could make a difference at that level is your computer's BIOS. Might be worth seeing if there's an update for it - often there is.
