Hi there! So I have literally watched every YouTube video and Googled this question and cannot find an answer anywhere and I'm SO desperate for help!!

Basically, I record covers on YouTube and have been recording instrumentals and vocals at the same time on on the same recording on Adobe audition, but I wanted to try doing some with karaoke tracks and put my own audio on top of that. The problem im having is being able to record my vocals while listening to the backing track through my interface/headphones. I am set up with a mic, and headphones which connect to my interface and the interface connects to my laptop. I can't figure out what my inputs and outputs should be set at because I've tried every way and I can't get it to record while I'm listening to the backing track. And now I can't even get the sound to go through my headphones connected to my interface, it only plays through my computer, which obviously means I can't record because there will be too much background noise my computer will pick up. I'm sorry if this is confusing, its a weird issue I feel like would have a simple answer since the majority of people just record vocals along with a karaoke track on YouTube but no one says how the mic and interface should be set up to do so and I'm at a complete loss. Let me know if you need more clarification! Thank you so much! I'm using a Rode NT1 Mic and Rode AI-1 interface.

First, can you confirm you have everything set up as per the Rode instructions on this page ?  Especially the section about Direct Monitoring, which should be On.

Second, have you downloaded and installed the dedicated ASIO driver and any other utility, like the Firmware Updater from this page ?

If you have done all the above then it should work as you wish, I think.
