"Open in Adobe Premiere Pro" Greyed out

New Here ,
Mar 09, 2020 Mar 09, 2020

I sent my audio from my premiere project to audition through dynamic link.

I made my edits to the multitrack and now when i go to export the project back to premiere, the option to open premiere after the export is greyed out.

I was able to do this before the recent new updates. (Everything is up to date)

Right after exporting; the original premiere project would open and ask me where to drop the new track.

I know i can just drop in the new file by finding the folder i exported to, but this feels like a step back in the workflow.

Did you ever get a reply to this? I just encountered this for the first time today and can't understand why I can no longer use the dynamic link to send the session back to PP!

Seriously thought this was just happening to me. I'm seeing this on my PC workstation only. Not happening on MacOS Catalina.

This exact thing is still happening on PC to me, any replies or idea why this is happening? I've done this for years.

I'm not saying that this is a solution really, but try doing this without closing Premiere - it seems to work fine like that.

Finally remembered the fix to this! Sometimes when you update or reinstall, project files default programs get unassigned which will cause the Export To Premiere Pro box to be greyed out.

Find a *.prproj file in Explorer and Open With and find your Adobe Premiere Pro.exe to link those files with Premiere again.

Should work after that! Just replying for future generations that run into this and Google search it like I did.
