Hi All
I have a Yamaha MG12xu mixer connected via USB to my laptop. The mixer is also connected to a pair of Yamaha HS5. The issue is, in multitrack recording, after recording the first track, when i arm and record the second track while having the first track in playback, it is recording the first track into the second one along with the instrument connected to the second. For example, in track 1, i recorded the drums. When i arm and record the bass guitar into track 2, the drums from track 1 is also getting recorded into track 2 along with the bass.
Can anyone help with how to prevent this from happening? Thanks in advance
Joseph

This is a mixer problem. If you use the mixer for monitoring the tracks already recorded by feeding them back to it, then you have to make sure that the feed going back doesn't make it to the mixer output. You need to make sure that none of the playback signal makes it into the Stereo L/R bus, which is what gets recorded.

And the solution is still "the same".

Here's my setup: laptop PC windows 11, BOMGE USB sound card, 4 channel mixer. When I record track one its good. When I overdub on to track 2 the audio on track 1 is being recorded on to track 2 as well as what I'm trying to record on to track 2. What settings do I need to be looking at?
