Recording-- but no sound, no waveform

Community Beginner ,

I have a PC running Windows 10, 8 gigs of ram, Adobe CC.  I have a Rode NT-1 Microphone and an AI-1 interface. I'm using WASAPI.  I have updated the firmware and downloaded the most current drivers from Rode.

In the waveform editor, when I press record the transport moves but no sound is being recorded and there is no wave form. The microphone is working and I hear my voice through my headphones.  Playback works on already recorded audio.

I'm a total beginner at home recording. However, I got lucky and everything was working when I first set it up. Then I tried to change the interface to ASIO which didn't work.  Any help would be much appreciated.

I solved it by downloading the ubiquitous asio4all drivers. That seemed to solve the problem. Thanks for responding though.

Still having trouble with this Rocketboy? Is your mic and speakers selected in Audio Hardware preferences? Please let us know.

Thanks,
Kevin

The same issue on my side. No recording with no microphone, wether built in nor any external one. This happens since I upgraded to BigSur but only in Audition. In Premiere Pro it works fine on the same machine. Ideas?

You may have to go into the Mac security preferences and specifically let Audition use the microphone.

If I had asked earlier I would have saved myself a lot of time. Thanks so much!
