I made a recording yesterday of a DJ set for radio broadcast,  that is noticeably louder in one channel that the other by several db - What is the simplest and best way to master it /Fx it, so volume levels are more equally balanced please?

Many thanks

DD

Use Effects>Amplify, and unlink the sliders. First take a guess (the meters are usually a good clue) as to how different the channels are, and then correct the lower one accordingly.

If you want an easy semi automatic cheat on this...

...Assuming you have your final mix done and exported, open your master in Multitrack.  Open Effects/Amplitude and Compression/Normalise, select what you want the maximum level of each track to be, make sure the "Normalise All Tracks Equally" is NOT ticked then hit Apply.

The downside of this is that one single loud transient on one track can keep the whole track lower--but if you applied compression in the mixing process this shouldn't be an issue.
