recording my radio show

just recently I noticed the last two weeks after a couple years no problem i noticed my recording is normal at the begining but at mid-way through my 6hr show the recording is fast forward speed. What could/can cause this ? The Hard Drive? I am running an Internet station on the same computer could it be the HD Internet radio does drain HD's

Usually this happens because some other app (Windows Sounds can do this) alters the sample rate on your audio device. If a sound gets priority to play and it's a 22k file and your sound device is set to 44.1k or 48k then that's exactly what will happen when you play back your file - it will double in speed. Whatever it is, it won't be a hard drive - they can't alter the audio performance like that at all.
