Recording stops and wont record again

I'm having issues with AA.  I'm recording my bands practices with 1 mic.  I record in multitrack & after a certain amount of time recording stops (different end point each time).  I disable record button a on that track and move to another track to continue recording.   Enable record button except it wont record or do anything.  I have to exit out of AA and get back in just to be able to record again.  Kinda annoying.  Any idea?

Thanks

Do you have the same input assigned on the new channel you're going to record on? Won't work unless you do...

I think you're right.  I can only record in 2 tracks.  Do you know how to fix this?  Thanks for the reply

Thought I fixed it.  But still not recording.  I imported a scratch track on track 2.  Enable track 3 to record and freezes.  Wont record.  I use to use CEP 2.0 and was easy.  I'm struggling with this.  Thanks for help!

If you only have two available inputs, that's not a problem - you just have to make sure that it's those inputs that are assigned to the individual tracks. When you've got them correctly in the hardware settings, the track input control shouldn't be greyed out, but look something like this:

Although yours might say something slightly different, the basic idea is the same. When you select one of those options it will show as a definite indication, and not say 'Default Stereo Input' or whatever, any more. Like this:
