Recovering Recording

I made a few hour long recording of an event my work puts on once a year. After this particular service, I accidentally pressed backspace and save only saving half of what I recorded. Is there anyway to get the rest of what was recorded through temp files or raw files or any other method? I am on a mac

-Thank You

I'm afraid not, if you recorded in Waveform view. If you have made a successful save at all then the temp file will be deleted, as it has no purpose any more. In future, you'd be much better off recording in Multitrack mode, where the file is written direct to disk, and when you stop, that's it - you've got your file.

I was recording in Multitrack mode; can't find the files ...

I have a 'deleted' (found in 'Trash') file:

    -Recovered Files

      - Adobe

       - 5.0

         Audition5Tempb7475a0b-fbc9-4ed3-ae0a-9679d4df4875

The file is 17.7 MB in size, which doesn't make me think it 'contains' any WAV files

No, any audio files recorded in the Multitrack view are saved directly to disc so should appear in the Session folder that you set up when you opened a new session together with the .sesx file. If your session is called MyAudio then they are normally sent to a sub folder in there called MyAudio_Recorded. So you need to find where your Session folder is. By default, if you haven't set up a special folder location of your own, they often end up in My Documents/Adobe/Audition/5.0 if you are running CS6 version of Audition.

The Trash temp file won't contain any usable audio. It is just Audition's scratch pad area where it stores all of its short term audio snippets made during your editing process. It is in the Trash since Audition tidies up after itself when you shut it down.
