Ripping LP to MP3

Hi,

I am new to Adobe Audition and I have managed to rip a LP to my computer but only in one large file of around 10 songs and would like to separate them into individual tracks but can not figure out how to, I have read up about adding markers using the F8 key but not a clean solution for me, is there a easier way to set AA to rip each song on the fly? it must know when a song has finished and the next one begins?

Any help is appreciated, also eliminating white noise and static would be good.

Cheers

You could try using Mark Audio from the Diagnostics panel. However, depending on the amount of background noise, it may be tricky to get the settings correct. In the end it may well actually be just as quick to select all the tracks manually using the mouse to select each one and use F8 to apply a Marker to the selected range. Once you have all the Ranges selected you can use the Export feature in the Markers List to save each one as an individual audio file. You could do this as .mp3 at that stage but it is probably better to keep all as .wav files until you are sure that you have finished editing and adjusting the tracks.

Read up on the Help files and Tutorials on how to do Click Removal and Noise Reduction. There is a built in tutorial on Background Noise Removal in the Help menu under Audition Learn.

Thanks ryclark for your post, I have been using F8 to apply markers but thought there may be a easier way but I'm not doing it 24/7 so happy with your recommendations, just one thing when I try and fade out a track it's slow fading out, any advice?

I'm not going to fade out each track now, I'll just keep it original.

Now I have forgotten how to save each individual file after applying markers, I have 9 markers, can you refresh my memory.

    I did it once before

    Cheers

This is my layout after applying the markers, but not sure if duration should read 00
