Skip Selection stopped working

The skip selection tool was working properly as of yesterday, but now when I try to use it it skips over the selection, but there's a lag before it starts playing the audio after it, and that audio is choppy. The audio itself is fine, it's just when I use the skip selection tool. I updated to the most recent version, 22.6.0.66 and am having the same issue. iMac, osx Big Sur 11.2.3. Please advise, thanks!

I am also experiencing an issue with 'Skip Selection' in the Waveform Editor and have tested and experienced the same problem in both Audition CC 2022 (22.6.0.66) & Beta Versions (23.1.0.2).

System:

MacBook Pro M1 Max
32GB Ram
OS Monterey (12.5.1)

Issue/Bug:
CTI skips the selection and then starts playing the next section of audio, but stops abruptly and the CTI returns to the starting point.

Steps to replicate the issue:

  1. Open audio clip in the Waveform Editor
  2. Make a selection of the waveform
  3. Press the 'Skip Selection' icon below the Editor
  4. Drag CTI before the selection
  5. Press Play (or Spacebar as I have tested both)
  6. The CTI moves forward, skips the selection as expected, and it starts to play the next section, but stops abruptly and returns to the beginning.

Thank you,

Mike

I'm not sure whether the Skip Selection is 'as designed' ot not. Currently its behaviour is that the length of selection made prior to the skip is mirrored on the other side of it - you play n seconds before, it plays n seconds afterwards.

The OP's lag before playing is a different matter, and being on a Mac I can't really comment as I don't have one. All I can say is that it sounds like a buffer issue...

Ah, thank you @SteveG_AudioMasters_

I did not make the connection while testing, but thinking back, I do believe the amount of time between the CTI and selection was indeed the same amount that was played back after ot skipped the selection.

Definitely not ideal behavior and seems more like a bug, but good to know.

Much appreciated and have a great day!

Hope the OP

Have you been able to resolve this issue? I'm experiencig the lag as well, which I did not experience before. I just moved to a new computer with Windows 11. Before I had Windows 10. Could that be the issue or some settings?
