The Automation is not working a far as I can determine

I am having a serious issue with the autmation at this stage I'm not sure that the write mode is  erasing any prior adjustments.

In Latch Write and Touch it's altering the setting of a Neve plugin I adjust the setting desired and when I click start in play mode  it's resetting all gain faders in the eq plugin to zero if I try to adjust while in latch mode the faders are reset to zero on two plugins from waves I've checked my procedure in  Reaper and it's not doing what Audition is doing. Some thing is really wrong with Automation. Can I please get an answer  if it's an operation thing or get the issue fixed by the developers   You can't mix complex music without the Automation using just a mouse Roger.

Automation appears to be functioning correctly here, but I don't have your Neve plugin, of course. If you try using the automation for any of the built-in plugins, does the same thing happen?

Hello to Steve G, I have tryed the Hard Limiter this morning it seems ok, here's a list of Waves plugins not working

with Automation they are fine till you engage automation in Audition Waves V eq 3.......  Waves Puigtec EQPIA...            V COMP Waves....VEQ4 Eq......  Maserati DRM Mono...... TG Mastering Plugin from Abby Road is unstable in Automation mode.....but working at 100% in non automation mode.....  I have checked the Veq 3 and Puigtec EQPIA

in Reaper and both are working fine, to be honest I don't won't to spend any more time on finding faults for Adobe who are charging me hundred of dollars a year and the Australia Government charging me tax to use Adobe products. Audition is not regard as one of the best DAW's.... Doesn't even rate a mention for music mixing and at the end of the day I don't  get a Daw when I stop paying rent on it. I Have used Audition from when it was called Cool Edit 2000 but for every third   party plugin it fails that I've tested in Automation this morning... the only one that pasted is the Waves GEQ 1/3  Graphic every thing with a rotary fader is failing.Audition does well in editing and has the best metering of any DAW available. I only purchased because I heard a major Los Angelous Studio use it, but he used the Adobe effects and evryone use other peoples plugins today. there are some plugins I use in Audition, the graphic eq noise reduction and hiss reduction. I can't be limited by what plugins to use in Automation mode !  I regularly loses all the VST PLugis Dll files and is crashing way to much on complex mixes I frankly think i should have bought Pro Tools in hindsight some of the problems must be leveled aginst the Windows Operating System who are forcing updates on you in Windows 10 I never had an issue in Cool edit 2000 in 15 years of of operation it wasn't that complex as today

I should point out that Audition simply isn't a DAW in the sense you mean - it's not music creation software at all; it's an editor. That's why it doesn't ever figure in so-called 'best DAW' lists. Also, Audition has had trouble with Waves plugins before - and it was Waves that had to rewrite them because they didn't follow the VST rules correctly. Some software manages to ignore programmers' little shortcuts but Audition, unfortunately, doesn't. I don't know whether this is a peculiarity of Audition or Waves this time, but a lot of people use their plugins, and I would have thought that we would have heard rather more about it by now if they'd packed up again. I don't ever feel the need to use them, so I don't have any. Are yours up to date? Does Waves even have an updating policy?

Thank you Steve G for the comment.............. I regard Audition  as A Digital Audio Work Station the only thing it lacks is Midi I use it to Master the Music I've mixed at a Student level (Not going to get a job because I'll  be 70 years of age in January) and it works fine you can even have peaks at 32 Float 6dB past zero FSD and cut the peaks off with Hard Limiter at -0.1 dB to create to create zero peaks which I do without Distortion using a VU and LUF meter to check for the signs of peaks past zero the only issue is the Automation, I wasted $30 upgrading the V Series Waves plugins with no change it's still not working in Automation with  the GEQ Graphic now......... For Steve G Audio Masters....Yes Waves has an update plan but it costs money and I don't make any money from the use of Audition. Have up-graded the V-Series to Version 11........ no Success as yet....    Roger

I have a few Waves plugins but I don't normally use them as they are not to my liking
Anyway, I loaded up V-Comp (one that you mentioned) and it seems to work just fine
Specifically I added an automation track for 'limit level' and it works perfectly.

I have tried this with the latest public release and the latest beta version.

I'm in Sydney if you want to PM me and we can see if we can sort out what is happening

Thank you for the Reply, I have upgarded to version 11 in the V-Series and there is no change 

and a complete waste of $30.00 my time is probably coming to an end with DAW's because I've

got RSI in the right shoulder used for the mouse over the last twenty years and I'v started taking pain killers which is not a good idea so any assistance would be fantastic Thanks.    Roger   The new version of V series are working in Reaper, had to reinstalled all Version 11 to get the Neve EQ going  Roger.

Just did a quick check using latch, touch, read, etc and Waves V-Comp and automation works without issue

Steve G Audio Masters, I have spent the last few hours checking and rechecking it's nothing to do with Waves Plugins

it's dong the same thing with an Audition Plugin I have tested the Multi Band Compressor......        this is my procedure... I open the Multi Band Compressor inserted into effects in the mixer click on default  and click on Classical Master Preset........ when I click start it's changing the preset.... in Latch Mode...... If it's my computer I have some serious issues... but as I have said a number of times it's not doing it in Reaper..... only in Audition.........  it appears I have the latest issue.... of Audition.......   this is becoming way to stressful......Roger mallison...

Mutiband Compressor, Single Band Compressor, Tube Modeled Compressor,

under Special Mastering, Dynamics. not all the presets have been checked.

 in Latch Mode. I will add to the list as they are checked.

What I'd like you to do is describe, step by step, exactly what you are doing. Only that way can we work out what's happening, because it doesn't appear to be happening to anybody else - I checked.

You would like me to describe what I am doing with the Automation in Audition, Before I start Reaper is working with this procedure and also I have undertaken Study at Audio Institute of America by correspondence and Canberra School of Music ANU unfortunately neither of these courses covered what I'm going to try and explain. "Using a Plugin on an Automated track in Adobe Audition, I did try to go back to the ANU but they wanted $2000.00 to study Pro Tools HD and I was on a Disability Pension so it was out of the question to try.

In the Two Videos that Michael has posted... what I'm showing is the fault on My Computer in Automation Mode the text books I have only refer to Automation on Analogue Desk Write Read and Update and are from the 1980's. This fault is also showing up on a second computer but because I've spent since Wednesday of this week 12/8/2020 reinstalling. Adobe Audition will not reinstall on Windows 7 it says it needs Windows 10 and I tested it on 2017 and 2018 versions....... Fistly in the Video I inserted a stereo track in Multitrack then clicked on the start button to prove that the my copy of Audition was working. I rewound the the track to start position reset Read to Latch Mode and pressed start again at the instant of that action all the Faders and Switches were reset to zero in the Neve Plugin... next I pressed stop and rewound the track to start and reset the Latch Mode back to Read, the settings were not altered and I replayed the track....next I clicked on the Finish button for the Tiny Take Video........ that's when this action reset all settings to Pre-Latch condition of Lead Vocal preset for the Neve Plugin. The same condition happened in Windows 7 on a different computer without a Blue Screen so it my opinion that the Blue Screen has nothing to do with this fault as stated, I use the same procedure in Reaper and it's working.. The reason I choose Latch is because I can make fader movements to alter the amplitude of the track volume with a Plugin inserted on the Automated track and the fader remains in the posion of alteration when I remove the mouse click button. The same situation is happening in Write and Touch Mode in Audition.
