Too late to register Adobe Audition CS5.5?

Hi, my name is Frank. I have a problem with my Adobe Audition CS5.5 I bought a few years ago. I had it properly installed and running on my iMac (late 2009). Now I'm preparing to move on to a new Mac in a few weeks. As I'm aware the new machine will not have a disc drive I wanted to copy the contents of my original AA install DVD to a SD card. However, when I was trying to do so my iMac ejected the disc immediately. It turned out the disc got a few noticable scratches so i guess this is the reason it is not readable anymore. So I thought, I'd simply got to the Adobe site, type in my serial number and would be able to download the installation files there. But unfortunately when I typed in my serial number to the input field and clicked the send button, it returned the message "An error occured." No statement as to why. Could it be, it's too late to enter the serial number of a product I bought years ago first time now?

Yes, I'm afraid you are too late. All product support for anything earlier than current release -1 is withdrawn, apparently for legal reasons that we can't discuss. Your only option now is to take out a current subscription, as no perpetual licences are now issued. The newer releases are also much more likely to run without issues on up-to-date hardware, so it's not necessarily a bad thing to do, as long as you can justify the cost...

Thanks for the quick reply! That's very sad. I guess I have to get used to another application then. Making a subscription for a cloud software I only use once or twice in a month isn't worth it. I'm sorry, Adobe.
