I have somehow lost the sound on Audition CS6 and the more I fiddled the worse it became. My set up is 2 hi-fi speakers linked up to a Sound Blaster Z sound card. Please find 2 screenshots and see if you can help me with this dilemma. Many thanks in advance.

On the face of it, this looks about correct - although it's a Creative Labs device and we do not recommend anybody to use these at all - they are very poor from many points of view. The main ones being the drivers, and the total lack of support from Creatve, and that's before we get on to the lies they tell in their 'specifications'. Try changing the Master Clock setting to an input one rather than an output, and see if that helps. I'm not optimistic about that; most other devices will work fine set as yours is. Also try setting the sample rate to 44.1k - it may be that Windows is having a little difficulty with a conversion.
The other thing to do is to check and see if by any chance there's another driver available for it. The one you should be using is dated 6 Nov 20, according to their website. I can't give you a release number for it though because typically, they don't provide one. However you look at it though, if Audition's transport controls don't work, then it is disconnected from the sound device - that's the only thing that ever stops the transport from working.
