Track turns red during multitrack recording

Recently, while recording new audio in multitrack, the waveform has been bright red while recording, as is the rectangle around it. The audio is recorded properly; this isn't even necessarily a problem, as Audition is functioning exactly as it was before. The track will revert to the default color once it's finished recording and you wouldn't know that there had been anything different at all; however, I'm at a loss as to what it is that Audition is trying to tell me here because I can't seem to find any documentation. What does this mean?

It doesn't mean anything other than the default 'recording' colour has been changed. No I don't know why, and no, it's not one you have control over. If you don't like it, you'll have to complain to the devs!

So it does. Now that's a bit harsh.

Ah thanks, I'm just glad nothing's gone wrong. Bit of a shame it can't be changed - it's a horrendous color - but I'll rest a bit easier knowing!

I think the best strategy is to simply blame it on Russian hackers.
