What happens when you try exporting to another destination? Do you get a similar error message?

I had the same exact problem trying to export a session mixdown as an MP3, and I unseccessully tried every solution I found online. I evently stumbled updon an uxepected solution that fixed the problem for me:

1. I opened a WAV and exported it a as an MP3 (i.e., not exporting multitrack mixdown; and not saving a WAV as an MP3): I exported the single track WAV file as an MP3 file (File>> Export>> File... or Ctrl+Shift+E).

2. After that, I re-opened the original session and was able to export it as an MP3 (File>> Export>> Multitrack mixdown>> Entore sessions...).

Again, I don't know why this combinatoin worked, but it did (thankfully!).

I have the same problem, arrising about the same time showing the same error when I try to do a FILE/SAVE AS to MP3. The drive is an internal hard drive with lots of room and this drive is in no way not present and working. Saving to .WAV to the same location works. Changing the destination of the MP3 FILE/SAVE AS to a different drive (my system's SSD) produces the same error, and of course that drive is also working and had pleanty of room.

Running the latest version of Audition 2023. Windows 10 latest version. Lots of plug-ins but nothing that should be involved in FILE/SAVE AS

Reading the mysterious fix above, I tried the export a WAV file trick, and then tried the FILE/SAVE AS to MP3. Still get the error.
