Hi, When I try to launch my Adobe Audition I get a box that states "Adobe Audition could not find a supported audio device. Please check your device settings." I am a bit computer ignorant. What does this mean and how do I handle it?

Much thanks, Marc

When you ask a question you need to provide some basic information

    -Forum quick start https://forums.adobe.com/docs/DOC-5601

Mac or Windows, and EXACTLY which version of the operating system?

Recent Mac AND Windows operating systems have been known to cause "odd" problems

Are you using a computer Administrator account with full read/write permission?

Exactly which version of the program do you have that is causing problems?

    What IS your audio hardware?

Thanks for helping. I have a Dell PC Windows 10. Don’t want to be too dumb but what do you mean by audio hardware? The computer has Media Suite. Part of the problem is that this computer is deliberately not connected to the internet. I only use the Dell for working on copying old recordings, reel-to-reels, cassettes etc. to Audition then burning them onto CDs. I use my Mac for everything else.

    Does this help?

    Thanks again, Marc

Two things: Audio hardware is simply your sound device - whatever makes a noise on your computer. The second thing is that as your computer deliberately isn't connected to the internet, what version of Audition are you running? Makes a difference to what the path to your sound device is.

Thanks for taking this up. This version of Audition 2.0 was running OK with about a week several left, then just got the warning and can’t get passed it.
