I've been working on one segment for days because Audition keeps crashing in Waveform. The session folder does not contain the multitrack that I was working on. It saves the .wav files separately. I did find one of the multitrack but not with any of the edited segments I was working on at the time of the crash.
I have the latest version of Audition and use a fairly new IMAC. I've tried calling Adobe but they have awful customer service. Now I'm afraid to edit in the Waveform anymore for fear of crashing.
Thanks. Michele

That's pretty bad if Adobe knows this problem and is not planning to correct it!! It's expensive for CC . It was working in the past before any updates. Not good PR or customer service. Maybe i need to switch to another editing program!!

I'm afraid that the only option is to report the crashes to Adobe so that they can be investigated. Audition Crashed. Now what?
But this is not normal behaviour and we would have heard if it was happening a lot with the latest version of Audition. Which version are you using?

I have reported it! I can't convert a mono file to stereo in waveform without it crashing.
I read this is a problem that was suppose to be corrected.
HELP!!

No, not corrected, but known about. Don't know quite when or whether even a correction will be made. What I do know though is that in the mean time, there's an easy way around the situation; just drag the spectral editing screen to the bottom of the display before converting, and then Edit>Convert Sample Type will work fine. I know this isn't perfect, but it's quicker than the other solution, which involves a lot of copying and pasting...

Not sure what you mean just drag the spectral editing screen to the bottom of the display before converting?? Could you illustrate.

I did not say that - I said that quite honestly, I didn't know whether they were or not - that's not the same thing now, is it? And it's not as though it's not working either - you just have to take one extra (and I grant you, non-intuitive) step:
This is mono tone with the spectral display still showing. Drag the handle I've indicated to the bottom of the screen, so that just the waveform is showing, like this:
There it is at the bottom, with just the single mono waveform showing. Now when you apply Convert Sample Type:
And convert it into a stereo waveform, it will work fine. All you have to do is return the spectral display screen again by dragging it back up:
So there's the original file, now in two channels. Technically not stereo but what the BBC call 'glorious mono'!
