Hi guys,
Sorry, I am an Audition beginner and I am having difficulties using it.
I am working with a lengthy sound track (main track), and I need to split and save them as different files.
However, when I copied one of the clips from the main track to a new file and saved it, I discovered that the main track jumps back to the second where I made the edit in the copied file.
For example:
1. When I copied a selected clip to new file
2. After I edited
3. The main track jumps back to the second where I made the edit in the copied file.
Is it possible for the main track to not jump back and remain at the selected clip? It is difficult for me to relocate the exact editing area. I'm aware that I can use markers to navigate, but I would like to explore alternative solutions if available.
Thank you so much.

Not quite sure why that's happening, because when you copy a section of a file to a new file, the new file gets treated completely independently - anything you do to it shouldn't have any effect on the original file at all. It certainly doesn't here. What might help is to deselect the selection you've still got on the original file before doing anything to the copy. The cursor should then remain where you put it on the original, whilst you edit the copy.

Hi Steve
Thank you for replying. Is it possible that I have accidentally pressed something wrong in the setting?
Thank you so much

Can't think of anything. There are a few options for controlling the cursor's behaviour in Edit>Preferences>Playback and Recording, but I don't think that they will affect what happens when you swap the files you are editing.
