Weirdness? Izotope Effects applied in Waveform disappear in multitrack

I've tried a number of "workarounds" (I'm really a brand-newbie). I've actually tried exporting the track as a file from Waveform and then importing it and putting it into multitrack. Same problem. The effects are GONE. Trying now to do it all over again in multitrack (where I'm hearing all kinds of thumps and bangs that were NEVER there before), de-essing, voice enhancement, etc. Glad I'm still in trial in Izotope. Maybe I should be doing all this in Audacity. Don't want to. I absolutely love Audition.

If you use effects of any sort in Waveform view, you have to apply them before they work on your file. Up until then you are only previewing them. If you apply the same effects in Multitrack view it's slightly different; you will hear them on the track, but they won't actually be applied until you do an export or mixdown - you can change them any time up until then. That's the difference between destructive and non-destructive editing. Audition takes a little getting used to after Audacity, but it's way more powerful.

My experience of iZotope's RX is that it works pretty darn well as a standalone product. Yes you can persuade it to work with Audition, but I prefer not to. YMMV...
