just trying to figure out how to get Adobe Audition connected to my mic for me to record. Yet every tutorial video I watch selects the 'Adobe Audition CC' as a menu option. . . & I dont have this? (the button is supposed to be to the left of 'file'? but muy top menu bar just starts with 'File' (followed by Edit, Mutlitrack, etc.) - I am not the best with tech so sry but just feeling frustrated when the things being done in the tutrials are not menu options that I have. sorry if i just need to watch MORE videio turotials 😕 Lol; thanks

Which version are you trying to use? On a Mac or a PC? Are you trying to open Audition from the CC app?

If you've actually opened Audition then you don't have to worry about any other steps - although I'm slightly intrigued by which tutorial videos you've been watching which have the opening steps you are describing - can you provide a link to one of them?
If Audition is open, you need to go to the Edit menu and select Preferences, and then Audio Hardware. The chances are that if Audition does actually open, it's connected to some sort of viable sound device - although not necessarily the one you want. At this point, we can't really go any further without seeing a screen-grab of the Audio Hardware settings page, but in principle all you need to do - assuming that you have a mic connected, and the correct settings, is hit the Record button in Waveform view and you should be recording it. If the transport moves, but no audio shows up, then you have the wrong input selected - but that's why we'd need to see the settings page in Preferences.
