Question

Will Audition ever offer an alternative to products like murf.ai, typecast etc.

The quality of the voices from web applications like typecast, murf.ai, wellsaid etc are far better than Audition.

Does anyone know if Adobe have plan to prdocue a comparable product?

I am wanting to know before I subscribe to one of the other products.

Two things: Firstly, the quality of Audition's voices is non-existent. That is because it doesn't have any of its own - it uses Microsoft's by default, and you can add anything else you want - but you'll have to pay for it. And if you use the Microsoft ones commercially, you have to pay for them too. let me repeat - Audition doesn't generate the voices, your OS does.

Secondly, whilst we have no knowledge about what Adobe is going to do next (that's commercially sensitive and they wish to keep it to themselves), personally I don't think they are likely to develop their own voice generation system, simply because there are already a load of existing systems out there. If they were going to do this, they've had many, many years to do so - and they haven't.

While you make a good argument. I've never known Adobe to just sit back and watch the competition pass them by especially when it comes to any popular media production tool.

My money is on Adobe is developing something but it isn't ready for prime time. When it is, I'll bet they'll release something - weather as part of Au (which would make sense) or a standalone AiVO app.

While on topic, I've just bought into PlayHT. I have a corporate educational video featuring a financial product. The terms of the product have changed and I need to revise a couple of sentences in the vo for product compliance.

Rather than have the whole script re-read, re-edit the animation (because timing will drift) I uploaded :30 from the original vo , added my type written revisions and it generated a really impressive read. Like Generative Fill, if you click regenerate again, you get a different read with fluctuations in different parts of the sentence. I've also capilatized the word "and" and it put more emphasis on that word. Playing around with commas, periods, caps and even combining two words into one to make it pronounce it properly worked well.

I'm just getting started but I'd challenge someone to tell what was edited. It's that impressive - and we're in this techs infancy. Worth a look if you need this type of work.

Like MIDI, for instance? Actually, Adobe has developed at least one speech-modifying tool and been told very firmly by their lawyers not to release it, because of potential subsequent liability claims. And that's likely to apply to any speech-generating product.

Adobe are more cautious than you might think.
